An adventure I had a few years ago led me to the photo reference for this painting. I loved the colours in it and wanted to paint it but when I looked through my bird book to try and figure out what it was it completely eluded me. I thought it was a warbler of some sort but still couldn't find it, so I took to my birders on the internet for help. It is a female Common Yellowthroat. She was only a rustle in the brush when I first noticed her. I watched intently through my camera lens for quite a while until she finally revealed herself to me. A lovely little bird, and a first for me.

This sweet little lady is available through Martello Alley.
