There is something about January that I absolutely love. Usually it is during January thaw that we get the snow scenes with bits of open water but this year has been very different. Soft, fresh snow, bright reflections on open water, as a painter i feel there is nothing more inspiring. I spent a few hours this week driving a long and winding road I have never been down before. Oh how I love that feeling of what is just around that corner. This path I chose did not disappoint. With the early setting sun ahead of me, my drive back was glorious, every bend revealing sunlight bouncing off the snow, the clouds around the sun were so bright they glowed with rainbow colours. There was a beaver gathering sticks pulling them through the water. How wonderful it was to chase sunsets again.
